TURNER (WGME) -- There was a fiery head-on crash involving a tractor-trailer in Turner Wednesday morning.

Around 7:45 a.m., the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office says a pickup truck hit the tractor-trailer on Route 4, and the tractor-trailer burst into flames.

First responders also had to cut open the pickup to get to the 51-year-old driver.

Deputies say the pickup was registered to the well-known Maine retailer, Mardens.

Both drivers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

A stretch of Route 4 was closed for more than five hours after the crash, but it's now open again.
