Magwizi, Nees to woo UK-based youngsters interested in playing for Zim with meetups next week

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is set to host a unique and engaging event aimed at unearthing football talent among Zimbabwean youth living in the United Kingdom.

Titled “Roots & Dreams: A Conversation with ZIFA”, this initiative provides aspiring footballers with an opportunity to connect with the national team’s leadership and explore pathways to donning the iconic Warriors jersey.

A Call to Aspiring Young Talent

ZIFA says it is is inviting all Zimbabwean youth footballers born in 2011 or earlier, who are currently based in the UK, to participate in this special engagement session. The event also welcomes families, coaches, and football enthusiasts with a passion for the future of Zimbabwean football.

What to Expect

It is a chance to:

  • Meet ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi
  • Engage with Warriors Head Coach Michael Nees
  • Ask questions, share personal journeys, and gain insight into the path towards national team representation

Bridging Diaspora and National Identity

The initiative seeks to connect the passion of the diaspora with the heart of Zimbabwean football, creating an inspiring platform where young players can dream big, draw closer to their heritage, and aspire to represent Zimbabwe on the international stage.
