PLATTENVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – Kentrell Lang, 42, of Napoleonville, was arrested on Tuesday, October 4.

A traffic violation led to Lang being stopped by a deputy with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office near LA 308 and Spur 70.

The deputy engaged with Lang and the Napoleonville man got out of the vehicle.

“As Lang exited his vehicle and approached the deputy, the officer noted what appeared to be a clear bag with suspected controlled dangerous substances encased in the palm of the suspect’s hand,” according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lang was told by the deputy to cough up the drugs.

Instead of listening to the deputy, “the suspect attempted to ingest the drug,” according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

A struggle ensued during which the package fell out of Lang’s mouth.

Lang was subsequently arrested and charged with the crimes listed below:

  • Prohibited Acts – Schedule II Drugs
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • No Driver’s License
  • Resisting an Officer
  • Proper Equipment Required on Vehicles
  • Insurance Security Required
  • Turning Movements and Required Signals

Lang was taken to the Assumption Parish Detention Center

Bond has not been set for the Napoleonville man.
