Interior ministers from the G7 group of leading nations will meet in Rome on October 20 to decide whether enough progress has been made.

PM THREAT FROM BORIS JOHNSON RESIGNATION 'RECEDES' AFTER BREXIT BILL CONCESSION

The threat to Theresa May of the potentially damaging resignation of Boris Johnson from the Cabinet appears to have receded, with agreement reportedly reached on the thrust of the Prime Minister's crunch Brexit speech.

The Foreign Secretary has backed away from his previous insistence that the UK should cease payments to the EU after the date of Brexit in 2019, accepting that Britain should "pay our dues" during any transition period, as well as meeting financial demands "where our lawyers say we are on the hook for stuff".

Mrs May has called a special meeting of Cabinet at Number 10 on Thursday to discuss her address in Florence the following day.

Boris Johnson has defended Britain's close relationship with Donald Trump but revealed the Government is urging the United States president to reverse his decision to pull out of the Paris climate deal.

The Foreign Secretary also stressed the UK is "continually" telling Mr Trump not to tear up the Iran nuclear deal as he insisted the Government has an obligation to have good relations with the US.

He told the Guardian: "We have a duty in the UK Government to have strong dynamic vibrant relations with our number one ally and the most powerful nation on earth. But I am not the porte parole (spokesman) of the US."

The 43-year-old former headteacher's three siblings said she was "dearly loved by us all and her strength will be sorely missed", in a statement released by the Foreign Office.

The Londoner was last heard from on Wednesday September 13, days after posting about her fears of being robbed or murdered in a jungle area in Brazil's remote north used for drug trafficking.

As it bears down on the British Virgin Islands (BVI), the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) has predicted the category five storm could unleash sustained winds of up to 160mph.

In its latest warning the centre said preparations against a "life-threatening storm surge and rainfall, flooding and destructive winds" should be "rushed to completion".

The travellers who were offered "free" replacement flights discovered they were not refunded for charges on extras paid on their original booking, leaving them having to pay twice.

The Dublin-based carrier - which is shelving up to 50 flights daily over the next six weeks - said it is aware of the issue and any customers who were double charged for seats or hold luggage will be refunded.

SLIGHT GAINS LIFT MAJOR US STOCK INDEXES TO NEW HIGHS

Wall Street has capped a day of mostly listless trading with a slight gain, enough to lift the major US stock indexes to another set of all-time highs.

Banks, insurers and other financial companies led the gainers, and technology companies also helped lift the market.

Health care stocks lagged the most, pulling down insurers, hospital operators and other companies as a Republican effort to repeal Barack Obama's health care bill appeared to gain momentum. Oil prices fell.
